Amanda Jones
I have been interested in wholistic health for a long time, and see midwifery care as an important part of this. I believe it is vital that women have the option of a safe and family centered birth experience. To help support this, I trained as a doula in 2003 at The Center for the Childbearing Year in Ann Arbor. I volunteered as a doula and later provided private doula services to empower women to make their own informed decision and have a positive birth experience. After moving to the west side of the state, I joined Full Circle in December 2005 as an apprentice. My goal is to become a CPM and continue to offer women wholistic health care.
My son was born at home in June 2006, and my personal experience only increased my want to support the option of a safe, family centered, home birth experience.
I also trained as massage therapist in 2000, and have been wildcrafting and using medicinal herbs for over ten years.
As an active Le Lache League member, I am excited to be training as a leader. I plan on starting and co-leading a group in Oceana county, which should begin in spring 2009.
I live with my husband Mike and son Zen in Shelby. We are awaiting the arrival of our second child in late January 2009.
UPDATE! SOVA MOON JONES WAS BORN AT 2:04 AM ON 1/31/09!
